Made in China 2025 Blue Book Released

On the 9th, the "Made in China 2025 Blue Book (2016)" was released. This blue book prepared by the China National Manufacturing Power Construction Strategy Advisory Committee systematically sorted out "Made in China 2025" from five perspectives: comprehensive, field, topic, regional and international. Release the progress since its implementation, as well as new developments and new initiatives in the development of the global manufacturing industry.

According to the Blue Book, under the influence of factors such as the application of intelligent manufacturing technology and changes in the overall cost of manufacturing, the global manufacturing layout is gradually being adjusted, and the shift to lower-cost regions such as Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Africa is accelerating.

According to the Blue Book, a few years ago, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and most of Asia were low manufacturing cost areas, while the United States, Western Europe, and Japan were high manufacturing cost areas. However, under the influence of labor productivity improvement, accelerated technological breakthroughs, and other cost changes such as energy and logistics, the global manufacturing cost pattern is changing in recent years.

A few years ago, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and most of Asia were low-cost manufacturing regions.

The Blue Book quoted data from Boston Consulting Group that the countries with the lowest manufacturing costs are currently Indonesia, India, Mexico, Thailand, and China, followed by Australia, Switzerland, Brazil, France, Italy, and Belgium with the highest manufacturing costs. The manufacturing cost advantage of Russia and Brazil has weakened. Due to the improvement of labor productivity and obvious energy cost advantages in Mexico and the United States, the advantages of manufacturing cost are gradually emerging.

Under the influence of cost changes, on the one hand, the manufacturing production of multinational companies has shown a trend of accelerating the return to developed countries; on the other hand, the global manufacturing industry has shifted to Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa and other places.

Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology of China, said on the same day that to promote the supply-side structural reform of the manufacturing industry, we must do a good job in reducing the comprehensive cost of enterprises, resolve excess capacity and dispose of zombie enterprises, and make up for the shortcomings of innovation capabilities, quality brands and industrial foundations. Work.

For reducing the comprehensive cost of enterprises, Miao Wei said, one is to reduce the cost of factors; the other is to reduce transaction costs; the third is to reduce institutional costs.
