Guangda Transmission and universities jointly held the annual summary meeting for their research project, “Green Remanufacturing Project for Gear Reducers,” to jointly write a new chapter in green remanufacturing.

On January 26, 2026, the research and development team jointly established by Guangda Transmission Co., Ltd., Guizhou University, and Guizhou College of Electronic Science and Technology held a summary meeting at the company for the 2025 targeted support project on science and technology in Gui'an New Area—the “Green Remanufacturing Project for Gear Reducers.” Zhu Yunlong, a full-time teacher from the Automotive Application Technology Department of Guizhou College of Electronic Science and Technology; Zhou Peng, an associate professor (and master’s supervisor) from the Department of Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and Automation at Guizhou University; Zhou Jianxi, a lecturer (and master’s supervisor) from the same department; and Wang Jutao, a master’s student in mechanical engineering at Guizhou University—along with Hu Xiangyin, Deputy General Manager and head of Guangda Transmission’s new R&D project—attended the meeting. During the meeting, the team conducted a comprehensive review of the 2025 project collaboration results and laid out the R&D directions for the next phase.

As a key science and technology innovation project supported by the Gui'an New Area, the “Gear Reducer Green Remanufacturing Project” closely aligns with the nation’s “Dual Carbon” strategy and the New Area’s requirements for high-quality development. Focusing on the green transformation needs in the high-end equipment manufacturing sector, the project is led by Guangda Transmission and jointly conducted with research teams from universities to tackle critical technological challenges.

At the meeting, Deputy General Manager Hu Xiangyin expressed his gratitude and recognition for the project team’s hard work and remarkable progress over the past year. He pointed out that industry-academia-research collaboration is the core driving force behind corporate technological innovation. The “Green Remanufacturing Project for Gear Reducers” not only aligns with the nation’s development strategies for green manufacturing and the circular economy, but also injects innovative momentum into enhancing the company’s product lifecycle management capabilities, reducing environmental impacts, and opening up new market segments. The combination of the university team’s profound theoretical foundation, cutting-edge research vision, and the company’s engineering practice capabilities and market insight serves as a crucial guarantee for the smooth advancement of the project. This initiative not only helps the company explore new avenues in green manufacturing but also contributes to the ecological upgrading of the high-end equipment manufacturing industrial cluster in Gui’an New Area.

Subsequently, the expert representatives serving as project team leaders took turns to deliver speeches, systematically summarizing the project’s implementation status for the year 2025. Representatives from the universities involved in the project unanimously agreed that the collaboration with Guangda Transmission Co., Ltd. has provided an excellent platform for deepening the integration of industry, academia, and research. Through this project, university researchers and graduate students have been able to closely integrate theoretical knowledge with actual industrial needs, thereby promoting both talent development and technological innovation. They stated that they will continue to leverage their respective strengths, focusing on tackling core technologies in green remanufacturing, and helping the project generate more outcomes with independent intellectual property rights and market competitiveness, thus contributing to regional industrial upgrading and sustainable development. Associate Professor Zhou Peng emphasized that the deepened cooperation between universities and enterprises has achieved a precise alignment between “theoretical research” and “industrial application,” and the specialized technical talents cultivated by the project team have injected fresh energy into the industry’s green transformation.

The “Green Remanufacturing Project for Gear Reducers” is one of Guangda Transmission’s key initiatives to actively fulfill its corporate social responsibility and promote collaborative innovation among industry, academia, and research institutions. The successful holding of this year’s summary meeting marks that the project has achieved its expected phased results and has laid a solid foundation for the smooth implementation of the next phase of work. Not only has the meeting comprehensively reviewed the project’s phased achievements and fostered consensus on cooperation, but it has also highlighted Guangda Transmission’s sense of responsibility in leveraging technological innovation to drive green development. As a leading enterprise in the high-end equipment manufacturing sector in Gui’an New Area, Guangda Transmission will continue to deepen its collaborative innovation with universities and research institutions. Taking the “Green Remanufacturing Project for Gear Reducers” as a key driver, Guangda Transmission will actively respond to Gui’an New Area’s development goal of “building a provincial-level center for science and technology innovation,” jointly promoting advancements in green manufacturing technologies and their industrial applications, and contributing even greater strength to the green transformation of the industry and the high-quality development of Gui’an New Area.
